Directly-elected lawmaker-cum-unionist Leong Sun Iok yesterday urged the city’s six gaming operators to join the government’s non-mandatory central provident fund system with the aim of providing their employees with better retirement protection.
Leong made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the headquarters of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (commonly known as Gung Luen), of which he is a vice-president, in Rua da Ribeira do Patane on the sidelines of a seminar about how to improve retirement protection for the city’s casino workers.
The one-day seminar was organised by the Macau Gaming Employees Home, an affiliate of the federation.
