The police believe that a man from the mainland jumped to his death from a footbridge in Zape in the early hours of yesterday, following his recent attempted suicide – in which he was injured after suddenly dashing off the pavement in front of a coach, which hit him, in an avenue in the district on Saturday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lei Tak Fai said yesterday.

The footbridge is a part of an elevated walkway system – which also contains lifts – connecting the bottom of Guia Hill at the rear of the Central People’s Government Liaison Office building and a road on the hill near the headquarters of the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM).

According to a statement by the Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday morning, the 57-year-old man surnamed Feng jumped to his death from the footbridge at around 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
