Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) President Mok Ian Ian said yesterday that the government has not made the final decision on whether it will officially classify Coloane’s Lai Chi Vun Village and its traditional shipyards as a cultural heritage site.

Mok made the remarks during a special press conference about her bureau’s ongoing tasks for the cultural heritage evaluation process for the village and its shipyards.

Yesterday’s press conference came after a statement by the bureau on Tuesday, which said that most of the members of the government-appointed Cultural Heritage Council did not agree with the village and its shipyards being listed as a cultural heritage site, during a regular meeting of the council on the same day.
