The number of recorded suicide cases dropped 20 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, the Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, 12 suicides were recorded from January to March, involving 10 local and two non-local residents.
According to the statement, the World Health Organisation (WHO) regards suicide is an important public health issue in today’s society, pointing out that monitoring suicide cases on a regular and systematic basis is an important task for the prevention of suicide.
