Members of the New Macau Gaming Workers’ Rights Union yesterday petitioned gaming operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment outside City of Dreams in Cotai, urging the company to improve its staff benefits.

Last Thursday, the union also handed a petition to the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) over the issue.

Speaking to reporters after handing the petition to a Melco representative, the union’s president, Cloee Chao Sao Fong, said that her group was urging the gaming operator to pay all its employees 14 monthly salaries a year. Chao said about 2,000 croupiers (dealers) working for the company had signed the petition.
