The Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement last night that it has recorded the fourth imported case of dengue fever this year.
According to the statement, the patient is a 22-year-old local man who lives in Avenida da Amizade and works in Avenida Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues.
The statement said that the patient visited Malaysia with his friends between July 9 and July 14. Last Thursday the patient came down with a fever and a headache, and he took medicine for the symptoms. On Monday he had rashes on his arms and legs. Two days later, he consulted a doctor at the private Kiang Wu Hospital. The bureau’s Public Health Laboratory confirmed yesterday that the patient was suffering from grade II dengue fever.
