Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On will attend the first meeting of the Leading Group for the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) in Beijing tomorrow, the Macau government’s spokesperson’s office said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, Chui will be accompanied by the chief-of-cabinet of his office, O Lam, during his four-day stay in the national capital starting today.
Chui’s Hong Kong counterpart Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will also take part in the meeting, Hong Kong’s Information Services Department (ISD) said in a statement yesterday. Lam will be accompanied by Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Patrick Nip Tak-kuen and the director of her office, Chan Kwok-ki.
The Greater Bay Area refers to the central government’s scheme to link the Pearl River Delta (PRD) cities of Hong Kong, Macau, Dongguan, Foshan, Guangzhou, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Shenzhen, Zhaoqing, Zhongshan and Zhuhai into an integrated economic and business hub.
