Cyclist faces ‘drunk-riding’ charge: police

A non-resident worker riding a bicycle was found to be “drunk riding” on Wednesday after failing to give way to a scooter rider at a junction, which caused the latter fall to the ground, injuring him, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Cheong Heon Fan said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Cheong identified the cyclist as a male mainlander in his fifties surnamed Chen who is a construction worker.

According to Cheong, the accident occurred at the junction of Avenida de Horta e Costa and Rua de Pedro Coutinho at around 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
