The Judiciary Police (PJ) have arrested a Thai woman for setting a fire outside her superior’s flat in the Inner Harbour area earlier this month, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference on Friday.

According to Lei, the suspect is a 41-year-old local Thai, surnamed Aphaikawee, who was working as a casino dealer before being transferred to the same company’s food and beverage department. The victim is the suspect’s female Philippine superior, a vice-manager of the F&B department.

Lei said that Aphaikawee – who suffers from arthritis and cannot stand for long periods of time – was notified by her company that she would be transferred to the F&B department on October 10. She complained about the transfer but to no avail.
