Seven eight-year-old children from Hou Kong Middle School’s primary section have been struck with the flu, the Health Bureau (SSM) said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the five boys and two girls are aged 8. Each of them suffered symptoms of acute upper respiratory tract infection such as fever, cough and sore throat on Saturday.
The statement said that most of them had seen a doctor and none of them needed to be hospitalised. Five of the children tested positive for the influenza A virus.
