Gongbei Customs said in a statement yesterday that its officers busted six cash-smuggling cases at the border checkpoint between the Macau peninsula and the neighbouring city of Zhuhai last week, involving HK$748,000 and 996,500 patacas in total, equivalent to a total of 1.51 million yuan.
According to the statement, the six cash smugglers comprise four mainlanders and two local women. The four mainlanders comprise three non-resident workers and a tourist.
The first three cases were busted on the same day last Tuesday, while the other three cases were busted last Thursday, according to the statement.
