The police said yesterday they have arrested a mainlander for allegedly scamming a currency exchange gang by using tissue paper piled in between two HK$1,000 banknotes to make it look like there was HK$110,000 which he attempted to exchange into 98,285 yuan.
Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Leng Kam Lon announced the case yesterday at a regular press briefing in Zape.
According to Leng, police officers on duty in Cotai arrested the 24-year-old mainland man surnamed Wu on Saturday.
