The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a woman from the mainland on Saturday for stealing HK$45,000 in cash and casino chips worth HK$17,000 from a mainland man in a guestroom in a casino-hotel resort in Cotai in April last year, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference yesterday.
Choi identified the suspect as a 33-year-old surnamed Li who told the police that she is unemployed. The victim is a businessman whose surname was not disclosed during the press conference.
According to Choi, the case occurred on April 18 last year, when Li met the male victim for the second time in a local casino. They had met for the first time about six months previously, also in a casino.
