The Public Prosecution Office (MP) has announced that the chief representative of Kun Iam Temple has been ordered to pay 50,000 patacas bail, facing jail for aggravated disobedience.
According to a MP statement last week, the suspect repeatedly disobeyed a raft of orders by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) to stop unauthorised renovation work at the ancient temple.
The statement pointed out that the illegal renovation has damaged the heritage-listed temple.
