Govt sets up MSAR anniversary working group

The government has set up an interdepartmental working group to support the preparations for celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR), according to an executive order published in the Official Gazette (BI) yesterday.

The order, signed by Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, underlines that the anniversary celebrations require “special commitment and involvement” from various government entities that will need to closely coordinate their work to ensure that all the events are carried out successfully. 

According to the order, the working group will comprise 11 members from various government entities. It will be headed by the chief-of-cabinet of Chui’s office, O Lam. Its members include, among others, Government Information Bureau (GCS) Director Victor Chan Chi Ping, Macau Foundation (FM) President Wu Zhiliang, Public Security Police (PSP) Commander Leong Man Cheong, Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) President Mok Ian Ian, and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) President José Maria da Fonseca Tavares.
