A 48-year-old local woman was hospitalised after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning in her flat yesterday, and is in a stable condition after emergency treatment, the Fire Services Bureau (CB) said.
The bureau said that it received a report from the woman’s mother at around 2:30 p.m. that her daughter began to feel unwell when taken a shower in their flat on the 19th floor of Block 4 of the Jardim Cidade residential estate – known as New City Garden in Chinese – in Toi San district.
Firemen and paramedics rushed to the scene, where the woman’s mother told them that she was fine. Her daughter, who felt woozy and suffered muscle weakness in her limbs, was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for emergency treatment, the bureau said. There was no information last night as to whether the victim was still hospitalised.
