Two female tourists were arrested on Friday and Saturday respectively as they entered different restricted areas of the local airport without permission, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Choi Iok Kin said during a regular press conference yesterday.

According to Choi, the suspect in the first incident, surnamed Im, is from South Korea. The suspect in second incident, surnamed Li, is from the mainland. Both are in their forties.

On Friday morning, Im was stopped by the police at the self-service checkpoint. Under questioning, she told the police that she was attempting to pass through the security checkpoint for departures without a flight ticket. She claimed she merely wanted to go to the enquiry desk at the boarding area to ask how to buy a ticket to Japan. She told the police she did not know that she had entered a restricted area.
