A scooter rider died after his vehicle crashed into the hillside in Estrada de Cheoc Van in Coloane at around 11 p.m. last night, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement.
The Fire Services Bureau (CB) identified the victim as a 24-year-old local man.
The police said they believed that the rider lost control of his scooter while driving along the road and then crashed into the hillside.
Firemen and paramedics rushed to the scene where they were unable to detect the rider’s heartbeat. The victim, who suffered serious head injuries, was not breathing either. The victim was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre where he was pronounced dead after emergency treatment, according to the Fire Services Bureau.
