The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested two local men on Wednesday for hiring a Hong Kong man to set fire to two cars parked in the carpark of Block 9 of the luxury residential estate Star River Windsor Arch in Taipa in January, PJ spokesman Ho Chan Nam said during a special press conference yesterday.
Another three local men were also arrested for assisting the hired arsonist in conducting the January arson attack, according to Ho.
According to Ho, the motive for the arson attack was a financial dispute between the two men and the victim – the owner of the two cars. Their pecuniary row involved a currency exchange business and a car dealership business, according to Ho.
