The chief executive officer of the private Macau Yinkui Hospital, Stella Wong Shuk Yi, said yesterday as there’s a shortage of local medical staff hospitals are competing for medical specialists, adding she hoped the government could help the private hospital by solving the severe lack of medical professionals in Macau.

The Bank of China (BOC) Macau Branch and Macau Yinkui Hospital held a cooperation agreement signing ceremony yesterday about a mobile phone app for a medical appointment service, at the Bank of China Building in Praça de Ferreira do Amaral. It was attended by about 50 guests.

According to a BOC statement, the bank provides a “smart convenient” service to the public with the aim of reducing waiting time at Macau Yinkui Hospital. People can make an appointment at the hospital for a medical service and afterwards pay the medical fees through the Bank of China’s mobile app.
