Unemployed local resident Choi Teng Teng announced yesterday that she plans to run in the chief executive election in August.

Choi handed in a letter about her reasons for her willingness to participate in the chief executive election and her political platform to a public servant of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) outside the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo yesterday morning. The letter is addressed to the Chief Executive Electoral Affairs Commission, to which the bureau provides administrative support. Afterwards, Choi told reporters about her plan to run for the city’s top job.

Choi said that she had been in jail for four and a half years on “a false accusation charge”. She did not say when she served the jail term.
