The Macau Satellite Television Company Limited (MASTV) is said to have defaulted on over 100 employees’ wages for two to six months, legislator Lei Cheng I told reporters at the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) yesterday.

Lei said she was representing over 100 MASTV staff when she filed a complaint with the bureau about the company’s non-payment of salaries for two to six months. MASTV staff started complaining in April about not receiving their salaries since February. The complainants comprise local and non-resident workers. Lei said the employees were still unsure if they would receive their pay for last month.

Lei said that the total amount was still uncertain because the case included a large number of employees. She added that it was not the first time that MASTV had failed to pay its employees.
