Police arrested a male tourist for allegedly raping a female tourist after the victim had got drunk in a disco in Cotai, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chan Wun Man said during a regular press conference yesterday.
According to Chan, the 29-year-old suspect is surnamed Yang. He told the police that he works as a businessman in the real estate sector on the mainland. The victim is a 23-year-old tourist. She told the police that she came to Macau with her boyfriend on Thursday. Her personal information was not revealed. Chan told The Macau Post Daily that the suspect, the victim and her boyfriend are tourists from the mainland.
The alleged crime happened on Friday. The victim told the police that she had a quarrel with her boyfriend in Cotai after which she went alone to a disco in the area at 9 p.m., Chan said.
