Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Executive Director Sam Lei Chou Sam said yesterday that innovation and technology have “fundamentally” transformed the way we live, work and communicate, pointing out that artificial intelligence (AI) lies at the heart of new technology that shapes our future.
Lei made the remarks in his opening speech for the 28th International Joint Conference of Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI) at the Venetian in Cotai.
According to a statement by the IJCAI, the conference is co-hosted by the IJCAI and the University of Macau (UM) in conjunction with the Macau Convention and Exhibition Association (MCEA). The statement said that 3,500 people from 50 countries and regions are participating in the conference.
