Over 2,000 pre-sale buyers of Pearl Horizon flats participated in a protest march yesterday to again urge Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On to meet their representatives, Pearl Horizon Condominium Owners United Association President Kou Meng Pok said yesterday, adding that the group was under the impression that “the chief executive is avoiding meeting us”.

The Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement that the protest drew about 680 people and that 120 PSP officers were deployed to maintain order.

The protesters, some carrying black umbrellas with slogans written on them, started to march from the office of the Polytec Group in Areia Preta, at around 2:45 p.m. to Government Headquarters in Nam Van where six of their representatives handed a petition to an official at 5:35 p.m. Over 100 of the protestors staged a sit-in near Nam Van Lake until around 7 p.m.
