The No. 1 typhoon standby signal remained hoisted late last night, according to a statement by the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG). Tropical Storm Podul was moving west-northwest towards Hainan province last night, the statement said, adding that under its influence showers and thunder were expected in the next two days in Macau. The statement also warned that flooding would occur in the Inner Harbour every morning between today and Saturday.
