Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng and Vice Minister of Education Tian Xuejun signed a memorandum on the mutual recognition of academic degrees in Beijing yesterday, according to a statement by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture (GSASC).
The memorandum aims to facilitate mutual recognition of academic qualifications in the area of higher education on both sides, the statement pointed out, adding that it also strives to deepen cooperation between higher education institutions on the mainland and in Macau, promote student exchanges and further strengthen the recognition of Macau’s academic qualifications.
The statement did not say when the deal will take effect.
