As the saying goes, “There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes.” Likewise, each person has his or her own impression of Macau.
Heidi Lau’s “Apparition” ceramics exhibition reveals a vision of Macau that is full of personal emotions with a good amount of abstractness.
Through reviewing her memories of growing up – from the roots of folk customs and religion to the details of family life and the development of the gaming industry, Lau projects a complex yet highly concise image of Macau, one that is mixed with personal impressions, legends and actuality.
These photos provided by Cultural Affairs Bureau shows artist Heidi Lau and her works for the Apparition exhibition currently on display in Venice.
