Executive Council spokesman Leong Heng Teng said yesterday that nine properties have been newly listed as cultural heritage.
Addressing a press conference at Government Headquarters, Leong said that the government’s top advisory body has finished discussing the draft of an administrative regulation (by-law) regarding the evaluation of the “second batch” of immovable properties, which will take effect on the day after its promulgation in the Official Gazette (BO).
Leong noted that the government has decided to list the nine properties as cultural heritage after listening to opinions from their respective owners and from the government-appointed Cultural Heritage Council, as well as after carrying out a public consultation on the matter – which was launched in November last year.
