Lawmaker Andrew Chan Chak Mo said yesterday that the legislature’s 2nd Standing Committee had urged the government to set a cap on condominium buildings’ reserve funds to which every flat owner is expected to contribute.

The committee, which is reviewing a government-initiated bill on the management of the communal areas in residential buildings, held a closed-door meeting at the Legislative Assembly (AL) with government officials yesterday.

The outline of the bill was passed in October last year. It is now being reviewed in detail by the standing committee.
