The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a female slot machine attendant last week for stealing – on several occasions earlier this month – money from slot machines in a casino in Cotai where she was working, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a regular press conference on Friday.
Leng identified the local suspect as a 55-year-old surnamed Loke who started working at the casino in November 2007.
On October 16, when the suspect was counting money from the cash container of a slot machine, a supervisor noticed she had stolen a HK$10 banknote and hid it under the collar of her uniform, Leng said, adding that the casino, however, did not report the case to the police at that time but did last Monday, when PJ officers went to the casino and took her in for questioning.
