The 2019 Macau Open Badminton, one of the legs on the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300, came to an end on Sunday with the finals of all the various events. Contestants from Canada, the Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Thailand were looking to win the main prize in their categories.

Compared to the number of people that were at Tap Seac Multi-sports Pavilion on Wednesday, Sunday’s finals saw an almost full house with a very vocal crowd, and although pretty partisan, they were appreciative of long rallies and great shots, regardless of who made them.

First up was the mixed doubles with world number 16s and event number one seeds Thais Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai up against event number six seeds Taiwan’s Wang Chi-lin and Cheng Chi-ya. The Thai duo won the game 21-11 and 21-8.
