Govt pays 535 million for relocation of chopper depot from Coloane to Zone E2

Briefing reporters after a closed-door meeting yesterday, lawmaker Mak Soi Kun, who heads the legislature’s Follow-up Committee for Public Finance Affairs, said that the members of the committee had doubts as to why the government needed to pay a private company “so much” – 535 million patacas – for the relocation of its helicopter depot.

Mak said that the officials attending yesterday’s meeting did not elaborate on the matter. The members of the committee asked the officials to brief them about the government’s latest implementation of its budget for this year.

Mak said that the officials told the committee that the government would later provide the committee with further details on the matter.
