The Judiciary Police (PJ) nabbed a construction worker for causing a fire in a hotel’s banquet hall in Cotai last week, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said during a regular press conference yesterday.
According to Leng, the local suspect, surnamed Tam, is about 30 years old. He told the police that he worked for a construction sub-contractor at the hotel.
According to Leng, the fire broke out at about 2 p.m. at the St. Regis hotel on January 2. The hotel told the police that the banquet hall was on fire.
