2019 – Macau’s hottest year: observatory

Last year was the hottest year on record in Macau, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) has announced.

In a statement on Friday, the bureau said that three main indicators – Macau’s average temperature, the average highest temperature, and the average lowest temperature – all hit record highs last year since the local observatory was established in 1952.

According to the statement, Macau’s average temperature last year was 23.6 degrees Celsius, replacing the previous record in 2015 when the bureau recorded the average temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius.
