Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) President Celeste Vong Yim Mui says that the government will come up with guidelines for barrier-free designs for public and government-subsidised construction projects.

Vong makes the pledge in a reply to a written interpellation submitted by lawmaker-cum-unionist Ella Lei Cheng I. Copies of the reply were sent to the media yesterday.

Lei asked the government in her interpellation what it would do to give the city’s disabled people a barrier-free environment, particularly how to better to help disabled persons access public entities.
