After the reopening of some public libraries and museums early this month, the Cultural Bureau (IC) reopened several other cultural facilities yesterday.
Many of the bureau’s cultural venues have been closed since February as part of the government’s COVID-19 prevention measures.
According to a statement by the bureau, the cultural facilities that partially opened to the public yesterday comprise the city’s UNESCO World Heritage sites namely the Mandarin’s House (only the ground floor and gift shop), Ruins of St. Paul’s (only the Largo da Companhia de Jesus), Guia Fortress (only the outdoor space), Tap Seac Gallery, Mount Fortress Corridor and Xian Xinghai Memorial Museum.
However, the statement pointed out that all guided tours, workshops and talks customarily held at the cultural facilities will remain suspended until further notice.
Venues that are reopening today comprise the Lou Kau Mansion (only the ground floor), Handover Gifts Museum of Macau, Macau Fashion Gallery, Taipa Houses Museum (including the Macanese Living Museum, Nostalgic House and Exhibitions Gallery) as well as the Museum of Taipa and Coloane History, according to the IC statement issued on Friday.
To gain admission to the indoor facilities, all visitors have to wear a facemask, submit a digital health declaration and have their temperature checked, and each venue has set its own limit on the number of visitors simultaneously admitted to the venue.
