A new solo media art exhibition entitled “Floating World” by local artist Kit Lee is being held at the Macau Art For All Society (AFA) gallery, organised by AFA and partly sponsored by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC). This is the first part of AFA’s “New Generation .New Media” exhibition series this year.
According to an AFA statement, it is Lee’s first solo exhibition, and she has been working in multimedia design since she returned to Macau in 2014.
Lee and Alice Kok, president of AFA and curator of the exhibition, were interviewed by The Macau Post Daily on Saturday. Lee said that her exhibition consisted of two series: “Flower” and “Sea”. She has used 3D and post-production software to produce a series of flower artwork since 2016 while “Sea” is a new series specially designed for the exhibition. All of Lee’s creations displayed at the exhibition use electronic screens and projectors as media.
Kok points out in the exhibition brochure that the title “Floating World” aims to describe a world where people’s fate is uncertain and impermanent. “The floats reflect ups and downs in life,” Kok told The Macau Post Daily.
The exhibition runs until April 27 at AFA Macau on the 1st floor gallery of Tak Chun Macau Art Garden in 265 Avenida do Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues opens daily (except Sunday and public holidays) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
As part of the government’s COVID-19 epidemic prevention measures, all visitors entering the venue have to wear a facemask.
