The Macau Zhongshan Communal Friendship Association will carry on Dr Sun Yat-sen’s unfinished work by putting in extra effort to maintain both Macau and Zhongshan’s long-term stability, Lou Wai Sek, who heads the group, said yesterday.

Lou made the remarks in a speech during the association’s 30th anniversary celebration at The Plaza Restaurant.

Dr Sun, also known as Sun Zhongshan or Sun Wen, is widely seen as the founder of modern China. He was born in Guangdon’s then Hsiang-shan county in 1866. The county was renamed Zhongshan to commemorate Dr Sun after his death in 1925.
