Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) recently teamed up with non-government organisations Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office (SKH) and Bosco Youth Service Network (BYS) to promote responsible gaming.
GEG and SKH recently organised a parent-child financial workshop to help its employees and their family members develop financial knowledge and enhance parent-child relationships.
About 30 employees and their family members joined the “Family Fun: Money Management Workshop”, where through various parent-child activities and games, they learnt correct family and financial management concepts.
By strengthening the participants’ financial knowledge, it is hoped that they can understand the harm caused by a gambling addiction.
In addition, GEG recently donated 100,000 patacas to BYS to support the launch of its new service that helps teenagers with gambling addiction through carrying out prevention work and providing treatments.
The donation would be used by BYS to establish a new social service that promotes awareness for teenage gambling addiction, substance abuse, and provides help to teens who are struggling with related problems.
BYS President Nelson Wong said that GEG was the first gaming operator to support the association’s new service, praising GEG for showing care and concern for teens with special needs.
“We look forward to building a long-term partnership with GEG, and to develop a one-stop addiction prevention and recovery service in Macau,” Wong said. – gegpr
