Brazil’s road deaths rise during 2026 Carnival holiday
   SÃO PAULO – Brazil recorded 130 deaths and 1,481 injuries in 1,241 traffic accidents on federal highways during the 2026 Carnival holiday from Feb. 13 to 18, the Federal Highway Police (PRF) said in a statement yesterday.   The provisional figures exceed those from the 2025 Carnival, with 85 deaths and 1,433 injuries in 1,190 accidents. Nearly 230,000 visitors arrive in Macau on third day of CNY

Myanmar orders Timor-Leste's diplomat to leave
   YANGON – Myanmar has instructed the chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Timor-Leste in Myanmar, Elisio do Rosário de Sousa, to leave the country by  tomorrow, February 20, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar on Sunday.   The ministry summoned the diplomat last Friday, ordering his departure from Myanmar territory no later than February 20 under Article 9 of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
