The Macau International Short Film Festival said in a statement this week that it is calling for short film and music video submissions for their festival in December.
According to the statement, the festival’s mission is to provide international filmmakers with a platform to exchange professional and creative experiences with their Macau peers. The statement said that the festival brings the most recent and innovative local and international short films, produced between January 1 last year and June 16 this year, to Macau. The festival also features the latest local and international music videos, produced from January 1 last year to July 20 this year. The statement stressed that each submitted music video must include music performed by a Macau band.
The statement noted that the submission period for the short film runs until June 16, while the submission period for music videos runs until July 20.
According to the statement, Macau International Short Film Festival is organising its 12th edition to be held from December 2-9 in Macau. The statement pointed out that the festival is a world-wide audio-visual annual festival, aiming to foster collaboration in international and local short film production to compete in Macau. The statement pointed out that it will exhibit the finalist films in Fiction, Documentary and Animation, and the finalist music videos to the public. The statement said that the finalist films and music videos would be selected by international juries.
The statement noted that last year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was still able to receive 4,232 short films and music videos, adding that among the submissions, 169 works were screened.
