Macau’s gaming revenues this year appear to be in line with the government’s forecast early this year of 200 billion patacas, a local scholar said this week.

Davis Fong Ka Chio, who heads the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau (UM), said while gaming revenues this year were unlikely to remain around the same or be slightly higher than last year, they were still likely to reach the 200 billion pataca mark the government expects.

Gross gaming receipts stood at 230.8 billion patacas last year.
