The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) said in a statement on Friday that it has launched a registration platform to assist restaurant and beverage business employers in collecting and providing employee information to fulfil COVID-19 prevention guidelines and the Health Bureau’s (SSM) requirement for target workers to undergo regular nucleic acid tests (NATs).

The platform is called “Target Worker Populations Information Collection System for Nucleic Acid Test of Novel Coronavirus”. The statement noted that the bureau held a briefing session on Thursday for food and beverage business chambers and associations gathered through the Macau Chamber of Commerce, and were instructed on how to use the system and the precautions that relevant establishments must abide by during “screening”.

The statement pointed out that the Health Bureau’s “Guidelines on Regular COVID-19 Testing for Target Worker Populations” state that security guards, cleaning staff, waiters and cashiers of the relevant IAM-licensed and administered establishments must regularly undergo NATs. The results can’t be used for border-crossings, and those failing to undergo the test will have their health codes turn yellow, the statement said.

The licence holders or those in charge of the businesses must collect the relevant employees’ information, which can be submitted by visiting IAM’s public service centres, by fax on 8795 2736, or using the online registration platform, the statement said. The list of employees will be included in the NAT appointment system for target worker populations.

Visiting the IAM webpage “One-stop Licensing Service for Food and Beverage Establishments”, the statement added, will show the information collection system, collection methods and the form template.

Licence holders, the statement said, were also notified of COVID-19 prevention guidelines and arrangements via SMS. Moreover, according to the statement, IAM will conduct screening for the relevant businesses under the bureau, urging them to promptly submit information to complete registration while also asking employees to have their NATs on time.
