A man died after jumping from a pedestrian bridge at a Cotai casino on Monday night, according to a statement from the Judiciary Police (PJ) on that day.
The statement said that the 49-year-old victim, surnamed Li, was from the mainland.
The statement said that the Judiciary Police were notified by the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre and the Public Security Police (PSP) at 1 a.m. on Monday that a man, who had “fallen” from a pedestrian bridge, was certified dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Afterwards, the statement said, PJ officers retrieved a handbag and phone left on the bridge and suspected that they were the victim’s belongings.
The statement pointed out that no suspicious injuries were found on the victim. The statement added that the exact cause of death could only be confirmed by forensic examination.
The case has preliminarily been classified as a dead-body-found case.
