The Public Prosecutions Office (MP) confirmed in a statement yesterday that a driver of one of its official cars was suspected of having violated driving rules while working and making inappropriate gestures at another driver, after the incident was filmed and posted on a social platform.

The statement acknowledged that the vehicle belongs to the Public Prosecutions Office.

The video recording the incident has meanwhile been removed from social media and cannot be found now. The case has been widely discussed by local Facebook groups.

According to the statement, the office has ordered an investigation and will “deal with the case strictly in accordance with the law”.

The Public Prosecutions Office apologised to residents for the inconvenience caused by the driver’s conduct, the statement said.

The statement said that residents are welcome to contact the Public Prosecutions Office at any time if they have any comments or suggestions about the work of its staff.
