A snake was found in the Hac Sa Park swimming pool area in Coloane on Saturday afternoon, after which the Fire Services Bureau (CB) went to the scene and caught the 1.2-metre snake, according to local media reports later that day.
The Fire Services Bureau received a report from a resident that a snake was found at the exit of the Hac Sa Park swimming pool complex at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the reports.
The reports quoted the Macau Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) as saying that the snake that was found there is common in Macau, adding that it took the firemen half an hour to catch the snake.
The serpent was alive when it was caught, the reports said, adding that it has meanwhile been rereleased into the woodland in Coloane.
The reports also quoted IAM officials as saying that now is the season when snakes are most active, reminding members of the public to stay calm when encountering snakes in suburban areas and not to chase, touch, hurt or kill them but to leave quietly, so as to ensure their personal safety.
