Cultural Development Fund’s 2 new subsidy schemes open for application next month

The Cultural Development Fund is launching two subsidised schemes for local cultural activities and the fashion industry, which can be applied for from September 1 to September 25 and September 8 to October 16 respectively, according to the fund’s statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the “2024 Local Activities/ Programmes Subsidy Scheme” aims to support local non-profit organisations and associations to carry out various artistic creation and promotion work, as well as the preservation of local history and culture, and the exchange of local arts and culture.

The statement said that the “2024 Local Activities/ Programmes Subsidy Scheme” will cover visual arts, literary creation, music, folk arts, pop songs performance, drama, dance, cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage (including Cantonese opera performance), fashion, design, film and animation related activities and projects.

The statement noted that the local organisations or associations should have been established on or before December 31, 2019, and that the subsidy will range from 30,000 patacas to 800,000 patacas.

Meanwhile, the statement said, the “11th Fashion Design Prototype Production Subsidy Programme” aims to encourage local fashion design research and development and innovation, push fashion designers to formulate feasible marketing plans, and to promote the development of commercial activities or participation in fashion exhibitions and sales at home and abroad, so as to enhance their visibility and market competitiveness.

The statement said that the applicants can both be individuals or duos holding a Macau ID card, with no less than eight pieces of original work that hadn’t ever been published or produced and had participated in at least one fashion promotion activity.

The programme will grant no more than eight applying units, no more than 180,000 patacas each.

Interested individuals or entities can apply for the two schemes through “Macao One Account” mobile app, the statement said, adding that local organisations or associations should open an account on the app to apply for the schemes.
