The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a mainland man in his thirties for falsely imprisoning a woman whom he had just got to know at a casino in Taipa, and attempting to sexually assault her in a hotel guestroom, PSP spokesman Lei Chan Hong said during a regular press conference yesterday.
The mainland victim, who is in her thirties, told the police that she got acquainted with the suspect surnamed Tang at a casino in Taipa last Friday, and later both decided to meet for lunch the following day. The victim added that after lunch last Saturday, both went to Tang’s guestroom to drink and chat, during which Tang suddenly locked the room’s door and grabbed her mobile phone, and attempted to force her to have sex with him, even though she kept resisting, according to Lei, who pointed out that the victim was bitten on the face and chest during the attempted assault.
Lei was quick to add that after the victim pleaded with Tang, she was not sexually assaulted in the end, but was falsely imprisoned by Tang in the room for nearly an hour.
The victim asked a friend to call the police after Tang had taken her from the guestroom to gamble in a casino, Lei said, adding that PSP officers arrested Tang at the hotel lobby last Saturday night.
Under questioning, Tang insisted that he had drunk alcoholic beverages together with the victim earlier that day, claiming that both bit each other as a sign of mutual affection, Lei said, noting that Tang has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of sexual assault and false imprisonment.
