The University of Macau (UM) released a report yesterday of a study guiding the development of an international science and innovation platform in Macau, and providing new ideas and suggestions for the platform to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among Macau’s young businesspeople, according to a UM statement yesterday.
The presentation conference of the report was held on the UM campus yesterday. The study was commissioned by the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Macao Committee for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development.
UM Rector Song Yonghua said in a speech during the conference that Macau should give full play to the advantages of the “One Country, Two Systems” principle and its international connectivity, and actively participate in the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
BFA Advisors Council member and the committee chairman Lionel Leong Vai Tac said that the report demonstrated the importance of building an international technology and innovation platform in Macau, putting forward policy proposals for Macau to carry out cooperation in technology and innovation.
The report has put forward a number of recommendations, including making use of the Boao Forum for Asia to promote international exchanges and consensus building in the field of innovation, and encouraging highly efficient enterprises to cultivate competitive talents.
